Hi, I’m Bryn, a native Texan currently living in Austin, TX with my husband and our two curly haired kids. After initiation into motherhood, I realized that every moment of my life was quickly becoming a story to tell; rather than unloading on my best (childless) friend every night on the phone, I started a blog. As a new mom, I’m simultaneously struggling with feelings of total confidence and paralyzing anxiety on a daily basis.

My latest project is a birth story podcast called The Birth Hour which you can check out by clicking the previous link or in iTunes.

When I’m not over-sharing on the internet or raising tiny humans, I work as the Senior Content Manager for Modernize.com – a home decor and inspiration website. My husband is an attorney and amateur crabber. He’s also an amazing dad and Topo Chico addict. When choosing one person to spend the rest of my life with, he was the perfect fit for me.

My family and I recently spent a couple of years living on the gorgeous and rugged Oregon Coast which is when I started this blog. The name of this blog comes from the Oregon state motto: She Flies with Her Own Wings (Alis Volat Propiis) which, aside from being a beautiful saying, has an interesting history as well. Stick around, I’m full of fascinating and highly useful information. If you are new to my site, a good place to start is here.

You can find my writing on several other online publications including Lifehacker, The Huffington Post, Scary Mommy, Babble, Modernize and The Mother List.

If you still haven’t had enough, you can follow me on FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.

Surprisingly in Arkansas they complain more about the summer humidity (~70% which is better than Houston on a good day) than they do killer tornadoes. What?!

I guess I am your Great Aunt, I am married to your Great Uncle Phil. We live on a ranch in Jordan Valley, OR and I think this is a great idea. Hope to be in your neighborhood later this summer. Maybe we could meet for lunch or something.

    Hi Bryn!

I was so excited to stubble upon your podcast, as for the mission of your show and my personal work and goals align so similarly! I’ve been listening to your podcast and would love to weigh in as a guest expert!

My name is Evangelia Leclaire and I am an expert Career Coach at The Muse and Founder of Ready Set Rock Academy – an independent consultancy that helps millennials and moms entering, settling and transitioning into their careers.

I spent the last decade working for Dream Careers (www.summerinterships.com) in which I helped over 10,000 millennials discover and pursue their dream careers around the world. I wrote the mission, helped build the business and developed a good majority of our career and employee development training, workshops, and content.

I’d love to synergize with you and leverage my experience and expertise to help your listeners! With over a decade of experience serving millennials, entering, settling or transitioning into their careers, I can weigh in-depth on a broad scope of topics, including:

    dream career discovery and pursuit
    putting a career on hold
family and career planning as a pregnant woman
    mom transitioning in the workforce
    professional brand makeover
    designing a career you love
    and so much more!

As an individual so passionate about the exact work your podcast covers, I feel I would fit perfectly as a guest on the show. I would love to hear more about what you and your audience would love to hear more about, as chances are, I have a story to and message to share related to that topic.

Would you have some time to hop on a 15-minute intro call in the next couple week or so, perhaps Monday or Wednesday?

    Best,
    Evangelia
